Nine Diagnostics Graduates from ACS BrightEdge Entrepreneurs Program

Nine Diagnostics Graduates from ACS BrightEdge Entrepreneurs Program -- Thank you to mentors Theresa Tribble, Dawn Mattoon, and Pahini Pandya

Nine Diagnostics has completed the BrightEdge Entrepreneurs Program, graduating from the 10-month accelerator with a Demo Day presentation showcasing the company’s progress developing an AI-enabled multi-omic nanosensor platform for precision oncology.

BrightEdge is the innovation and impact investment arm of the American Cancer Society and the first geographically agnostic, cancer-focused early-stage venture accelerator. The program is designed to bridge the gap between research discovery and commercial viability for oncology-focused startups, providing direct equity investment alongside structured programming. Each selected company receives a $100,000 investment, paired with expert mentorship, monthly educational sessions, and access to the ACS’s nationwide network of cancer researchers, clinicians, and care sites. Programming spans scientific strategy, regulatory pathways, clinical translation, and investor readiness, culminating in a Demo Day pitch before strategic partners from the BrightEdge network.

Nine Diagnostics was among eight companies selected for the 2025 BEE cohort, spanning prevention, detection, and treatment across the cancer care continuum. The Demo Day pitch event was held in late October 2025. Through the program, Nine Diagnostics received structured feedback on its scientific development roadmap, clinical translation strategy, and commercial positioning in cancer diagnostics. The BrightEdge network provided introductions to mission-aligned oncology operators, potential partners, and stakeholders focused on moving high-impact technologies toward clinical adoption. Nine Diagnostics is grateful for the mentorship of Dawn Mattoon, Pahini Pandya, and Theresa Tribble, whose expertise across diagnostics development, commercialization, and oncology innovation directly informed the company’s strategic development through the program.

As an equity-providing program, BrightEdge joins Nine Diagnostics as an early, mission-driven investor aligned with the company’s focus on advancing AI-enabled diagnostics in oncology. Graduation from the program marks a meaningful milestone in Nine Diagnostics’ development, reinforcing both the clinical and commercial relevance of its approach to blood-based multi-omic disease monitoring.

Nine Diagnostics joined the BrightEdge Entrepreneurs Program earlier in 2025.

About Nine Diagnostics

Nine Diagnostics is an AI-enabled multi-omic nanosensor company advancing precision medicine. The platform simultaneously captures proteomic, metabolomic, and lipidomic signals alongside patient clinical context to generate a multi-omic fingerprint, using machine learning to identify disease-relevant patterns without requiring prior knowledge of which biomarkers matter. This enables pre-treatment patient stratification, on-treatment response monitoring, and post-treatment minimal residual disease detection. Founded by Freddy T. Nguyen, MD, PhD (CEO), Daniel A. Heller, PhD (CSO), and Mijin Kim, PhD (Scientific Advisor), Nine Diagnostics is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
